A Squarespace website costs $19 to $99 a month paid yearly, or $25 to $139 paid monthly. The cheapest plan most businesses can live with is $19 to $29 a month. Then add a domain and email after the first year, card fees if you sell online, and your own time.
The 2026 plans
Squarespace raised its prices in July 2026. Here’s what each plan costs now. The yearly price means you pay for all twelve months up front.
| Plan | Paid yearly | Paid monthly | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $19 / mo | $25 / mo | Squarespace takes 2% of online store sales. No free year of email. |
| Core | $29 / mo | $39 / mo | No Squarespace fee on store sales. First year of Google email free. |
| Plus | $49 / mo | $65 / mo | Lower card fees and more tools for selling online. |
| Advanced | $99 / mo | $139 / mo | Built for big online stores and subscriptions. |
Prices are from Squarespace’s pricing page in October 2026. They change, so check there before you buy.
What the plan price leaves out
The monthly number is the part everyone quotes. These are the parts that show up later.
- Your domain, after year one. It’s free the first year on a yearly plan. After that you pay to renew it, every year.
- Email on your domain. Basic doesn’t include it. The other plans give you one free year of Google email, then Google’s normal price for each person who needs an inbox.
- Fees when you get paid. If customers pay you through the site, card processing takes a cut of every sale. On Basic, Squarespace takes 2% of store sales on top of that.
- Add-ons. Online booking and other extras are monthly charges of their own.
- Your time. You pick the template, write every word, find the photos, and fix it when something looks wrong on a phone. That’s dozens of hours before the site ever goes live.
The Google half
A Squarespace plan gets you a site that looks finished. Getting it to show up when someone in your town searches for what you do is a separate job. Squarespace gives you the settings. It doesn’t use them for you, and it doesn’t keep watching after launch. We wrote more about that in website builder vs. web designer.
What a year really costs
Say you run a small service business and pick Core, paid yearly.
| Year one | Year two and after | |
|---|---|---|
| Core plan | $348 | $348 |
| Domain | Free | Renewal fee every year |
| Google email | Free | Google’s price per inbox |
| Your time | Dozens of hours | A few hours every month |
| Showing up on Google | Up to you | Up to you |
The first year looks cheap because two of the costs are free. Year two is when the real bill shows up, and the time never goes away.
Squarespace vs. having it done for you
Squarespace Core is $29 a month. Pair of Dots is $150 a month. That gap is real, and it buys one thing: you stop being the web designer.
For $150 we build the site, write it, host it, set up your Google Business Profile, keep the two matched, and make changes when you text us. No money down, no contract, and you see your site before you pay.
If you enjoy building websites and have the time, Squarespace is a good tool. If you’d rather be doing the work you’re actually paid for, that’s the job we do.
